WINTER IN CORFU 

If you have ever visited Corfu in the summer then you could be forgiven for thinking that it has very little to do with Greece. All that sunshine, the beaches, the swimming, bars, tavernas and nightclubs, you could be anywhere in the Med. But Greece it is (as those of you that have been with us on our Quad Safari can testify). Corfu-Summer is pleased to announce the introduction of our new product, "Going Local", which is designed for the more discerning traveler.

GOING LOCAL

Lets start by giving the island its Greek name, Kerkyra, and not Corfu, nor Corfou, nor even Korfu. Throughout the six months of summer, the islands' resorts are teaming with tourists. Not so in the winter time. The typical resort will take on the semblance of a ghost town. On the other hand, In Corfu Town and the villages, life goes on as usual. Greek life that is. It is a lifestyle that we would love to share with you. One thing that does not change in the 'off season' is the hospitality and friendliness of the local people.

 GOING LOCAL

Sure we will still take you on island tours, but on horseback not in a tour coach. The boat trip becomes the local ferry to Albania or the mainland. The Greek Night becomes A Greek Night Out, with real bazouki music and singing. We will take you into the mountain village kafeneion for souvlaki and home made wines. (No need to pack the aspirin, this is REAL wine made with nothing but the grape and love. Dopio (of the village) wine contains no chemicals, not even sugar and hence no hangover.

Come and watch us baking our bread (cooked in ovens heated by burning olive wood) and pressing our olives into oil. Or just come and join in the fun which is The Greek Life.

There are now two direct daytime flights from Düsseldorf in Germany with connections to and from UK regional airports. These flights are being operated by LTU.
